If you or your loved ones are having a very hard time to cope, if you cannot control certain thoughts, or if fear overcomes you, you can appeal for specialised psychological help in most treatment centers. This does not mean you are crazy or weak.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">A psychologist will <strong>listen <\/strong> to you and your loved ones, give you <strong>tips <\/strong> to help you handle your situation in order to keep life tolerable. Ask for help to face sarcoma and keep your mental health safe. Ook via <strong>Kom<\/strong> <strong>op<\/strong> <strong>Tegen<\/strong> <strong>Kanker<\/strong> en <strong>Stichting<\/strong> <strong>tegen<\/strong> <strong>Kanker<\/strong> is informatie te vinden over psychosociale en economische ondersteuning. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allesoverkanker.be\/sociale-voorzieningen\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hier <\/a>vind je een aantal items waar je als pati\u00ebnt of naaste baat bij kan hebben.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_accordion_item_1 et_pb_accordion_item et_pb_toggle et_pb_module et_pb_toggle_close et_block_module\"><h5 class=\"et_pb_toggle_title\">Tegemoetkoming voor een chronische aandoening of een zeldzame ziekte<\/h5><div class=\"et_pb_toggle_content\"><p>Voor mensen met een chronische aandoening of een zeldzame ziekte kunnen de medische kosten snel oplopen. Gelukkig bestaan er tegemoetkomingen om deze kosten te verlichten. Twee belangrijke regelingen zijn het statuut voor personen met een chronische aandoening en de terugbetaling van weesgeneesmiddelen.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Statuut chronische aandoening<\/strong><br \/>Als u hoge medische kosten heeft door een langdurige aandoening, kan het statuut voor chronische aandoeningen u helpen. Dit statuut verlaagt het maximale bedrag dat u zelf moet betalen aan remgelden (het deel van de medische kosten dat niet wordt terugbetaald). In sommige gevallen krijgt u het statuut automatisch, maar soms moet u een aanvraag indienen via uw ziekenfonds met een medisch attest van uw arts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Weesgeneesmiddelen<\/strong><br \/>Weesgeneesmiddelen zijn medicijnen voor zeldzame ziekten. Veel van deze geneesmiddelen worden (gedeeltelijk of volledig) terugbetaald door de ziekteverzekering, maar er zijn vaak extra voorwaarden aan verbonden. Dit komt omdat de medicijnen duur zijn en er minder informatie over hun effectiviteit beschikbaar is. Voor sommige weesgeneesmiddelen helpt een College van artsen mee beslissen over de terugbetaling.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In de volgende stappenplannen leggen we uit hoe u het statuut van chronische aandoening aanvraagt en hoe de terugbetaling van weesgeneesmiddelen werkt.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Verkrijgen van het statuut van persoon met een chronische aandoening<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<table border=\"0\" style=\"width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\"><em>Automatische toekenning van het statuut<\/em><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">\n<p>U komt automatisch in aanmerking voor het statuut als u aan een van de volgende voorwaarden voldoet:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>U heeft gedurende acht opeenvolgende kwartalen (twee kalenderjaren) uitgaven voor geneeskundige verzorging van minstens \u20ac400,20 per kwartaal (bedrag voor 2025). Deze uitgaven omvatten zowel het deel dat het ziekenfonds betaalt als uw persoonlijke aandeel.<\/li>\n<li>U ontvangt het forfait voor chronisch zieken.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\"><em>Toekenning van het statuut bij zeldzame of weesziekten<\/em><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">\n<p>ls u lijdt aan een zeldzame ziekte of weesziekte en voldoet aan de bovengenoemde uitgavencriteria, kunt u het statuut verkrijgen door een medisch attest van uw behandelend specialist aan uw ziekenfonds te bezorgen. Raadpleeg uw behandelend arts<\/em><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 24px;\">Bespreek met uw arts de noodzaak van het specifieke weesgeneesmiddel of het geneesmiddel voor uw zeldzame aandoening.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 10px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 10px;\"><em>2. Samenstellen van het aanvraagdossier<\/em><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 10px;\">\n<p>Uw arts stelt een dossier samen dat minimaal de volgende documenten bevat:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Een ingevuld, ondertekend en gedateerd aanvraagformulier voor de terugbetaling van het geneesmiddel (bijlage A).<\/li>\n<li>Een medisch verslag met uw medische en therapeutische voorgeschiedenis en de motivatie voor de behandeling.<\/li>\n<li>Protocollen en resultaten van alle noodzakelijke onderzoeken die de diagnose en de start of voortzetting van de behandeling ondersteunen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 10px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 10px;\"><em>3. Indienen van het dossier bij uw ziekenfonds<\/em><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 10px;\">Uw arts stuurt het volledige dossier naar uw ziekenfonds.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 0px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 0px;\"><em>4. Beoordeling van het dossier<\/em><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 0px;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Indien er een College van artsen bestaat voor het betreffende geneesmiddel, wordt het dossier doorgestuurd naar het hoofdkantoor van uw ziekenfonds en vervolgens voor advies voorgelegd aan het secretariaat van de Colleges van artsen.<\/li>\n<li>Het College of de verzekeringsinstelling kan aanvullende informatie opvragen bij de aanvragende arts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 80px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 80px;\"><em>5. If this is the case, you have a right to financial compensation. Even if your <strong> incapacity for work is permanent <\/strong> , your sickness fund will help you. It is important to also involve your employer to look for solutions such as adaptation of your work place to keep you employed.<\/p>\n<p>Take care to submit your documents in time. Sometimes a late submission may lead to a partial loss of your compensation. In Belgium, you can only receive compensation for your incapacity for work during one year. However, you will need the permission of the advisory doctor of your sickness fund. This also means that you can receive compensation by the RIZIV for for instance prostheses, implants and wheelchairs. On top of this you may also be eligible for a compensation to ensure a certain income. In order to be eligible, you will need a recognition of your handicap and meet certain criteria. Click <a href=\"https:\/\/handicap.belgium.be\/nl\/erkenning-handicap\/voorwaarden-erkenning.htm\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> for more information about the criteria and compensations for a handicap.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_accordion_item_4 et_pb_accordion_item et_pb_toggle et_pb_module et_pb_toggle_close et_block_module\"><h5 class=\"et_pb_toggle_title\">School<\/h5><div class=\"et_pb_toggle_content\"><p>If you or your child cannot attend kindergarten, primary school or secondary school, there are possibilities to attend class in order not to miss too much.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">During your stay in the hospital you may attend hospital class. Click  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vlaanderen.be\/onderwijs-en-vorming\/ondersteuning\/onderwijs-voor-leerlingen-met-specifieke-noden\/onderwijs-voor-langdurig-zieke-leerlingen\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> here<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p>Ben je toch langdurig afwezig bestaan er ook mogelijkheden om thuis of in het ziekenhuis de lessen van de klas mee te volgen. Bednet verbindt langdurig en chronisch zieke leerlingen tussen 6 en 18 jaar in Vlaanderen via internet met hun eigen klas. Een computer in de klas van het zieke kind wordt verbonden met een computer bij het kind thuis of in het ziekenhuis. Via speciale software en webcamera's volgt de leerling 'live' alles wat er in de klas gebeurt en kan hij de lessen volgen. Hij kan vragen stellen en met zijn klasgenoten praten. Zo zijn ze mee met de les en blijven in contact met hun vrienden. Bednet is zowel voor de school als voor de zieke leerling gratis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">You can apply for this service yourself or through school. Keep in mind that the application may take a few weeks. As soon as you know when you will be absent, it is best to apply in order to quickly start attending class remotely.
